The Network Engineer role is responsible for implementation and configuration of networking systems for all facets of the banking business. This includes but is not limited to switches, routers, load balancers, voip systems and distributed networks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Take direction from senior engineer technical leaders to perform installation and configuration of installed networking systems.
2. Work with other IT teams to support the changes to configure and enable the necessary solutions including security, logging, monitoring.
3. Attend and participate in network design sessions with networking guild peers to create architectural, design and test plans.
4. Ability to create subcomponent design and work independently towards design implementation.
5. Provide architectural design patterns for peer review and education.
6. Lead engineering team design of integration and production tests to ensure high quality implementations.
7. Perform pre integration tests and execute pre integration test plans.
8. Communicate project status, dependencies and requirements to management.
9. Stay current on changes in the networking technology space including L1 transports, software defined networking, configuration and deployment technologies including virtual machines and containers.
10. Provide debug and problem resolution support as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training
2. Three to five years of experience
3. BSCS, BSEE, BSCE
4. Analytical skills, problem solving, ability to communicate complex ideas and present to peers
5. Familiarity with concepts and management interfaces of a software defined network technology such as ACI, NSX or cloud networking
6. Familiarity with networking concepts such as routing, security, OSI model and protocols definitions.
7. Proven track record of technical designs and implementation

Preferred Qualifications:
1. A general understanding of Software Defined Networking
2. Working knowledge with Devops technologies and a proven track
3. Working knowledge of collaboration tools such as slack, webex, microsoft teams, visio
4. Working knowledge of Microsoft office productivity suite
5. Ability to self manage time

6. Demonstrated understanding of internet naming technologies such as DNS, DHCP, ipv6, ipv4.
7. Demonstrated understanding of routing protocols such as BGP, IS-IS, OSPF
