Chewy is hiring a Network Engineer (Wireless) in Minneapolis, MN. At Chewy, we are constantly thinking big, and the growth of our network infrastructure proves that day-in and day-out. We are seeking an engineer that will work as part of our Network Engineering team that primarily supports our wireless network environments and helps with any operational activities for our LAN, WAN, and Data Center environments. As a part of this team, you will help to drive our technical roadmap by supporting your peers and customers to ensure they are provided a world class experience when it comes to connectivity. Additionally, you will partner with internal teams as we continue to adopt new technologies and solutions to support our explosive growth. What You’ll Do:

  • Design, implement, test, and deploy networking solutions for Chewy’s network infrastructure with a heavy focus on Wireless
  • Deliver solutions that are simple, scalable, secure, maintainable, and repeatable
  • Help to drive the continuous improvement of the network engineering team by evaluating and adopting new processes and technologies
  • Take part in network support activities that cover operational and project-based work with your colleagues that are internal and external to the Network Engineering team
  • Drive for automated solutions to monitor and support our network infrastructure with a heavy emphasis on proactive activities to ensure our uptime and experience is world-class

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience and strong functional knowledge of wireless networking technologies and standards (802.11 b/g/n/ac/ax, MIMO, etc.)
  • Understanding of Wi-Fi RF characteristics: signal propagation, MIMO, MCS Index, band-steering
  • Ability to perform active, passive, and predictive site surveys with various tools in person and remotely (Airmagnet/Ekahau knowledge is a plus)
  • Functional knowledge of Meraki product configuration and support across multiple environment types
  • Understanding of enterprise wireless authentication methods including WPA/WPA2, 802.1X, EAP, RADIUS, etc.
  • Functional knowledge of LAN configuration and operational support activities across Cisco and Meraki switch environments (VLAN, VTP, STP, Port-Channeling, etc.)
  • Understanding of various layer 3 functions and routing protocols (DMVPN, EIGRP, BGP, HSRP, etc.)
  • Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) or equivalent network certification
  • Experience with documentation of existing/new wireless designs and network diagrams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to comply with IT Security Processes and support audit standards for Change Control, PCI, and SOX compliance
  • Willingness to travel with the ability to support both tactical and strategic network engineering functions

Bonus (if applicable):

  • Experience with ServiceNow
  • Knowledge of Acceltex/Ventev mounting solutions
  • Experience with Atlassian product suites (Confluence, Jira, BitBucket)
  • Advanced certifications such as a CWNP or CCNP in various disciplines
  • Knowledge of DevOps and practical understanding of automation principles
  • F5 Big-IP Administration Experience
  • Fortinet Administration Experience
  • Understanding of BOM build outs for network equipment procurement
  • Knowledge of emerging Wi-Fi standards such as 6E (6Ghz), Mesh, BSS Coloring, TWT, OFDMA, and WPA3
