Job Summary:

The Network Engineer 2 will provide expert network design and support services across multiple DoD programs, as well as support the corporate infrastructure as needed.The successful candidate will act as a SME on numerous projects as they are presented. This candidate will also collaborate with systems architects, security engineers and program managers on network optimizations, monitoring strategies, security, and designs.

Essential Job Functions:

• Must possess or be able to receive a security clearance of secret or higher
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Manage and work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Provide maintenance and support for network hardware and software
• Monitor network performance and ensures system availability and reliability
• Manage racking, cabling, and physical connectivity
• Help design and implement a variety of complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 solutions
• Communicate specifications and requirements to stakeholders
• Troubleshoot complex network issues
• Multitask, meet deadlines, prioritize requests, and work independently while producing quality work

Skills and Expertise:

• A thorough understanding of switching technologies and routing protocols including complex NAT/PAT
• Experience with Next-Generation firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto)
• Understanding or experience with public key infrastructure
• Experience in networksecurity including device hardening, intrusion detection systems,firewalls, and vulnerability assessment
• Experience with VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL)
• Experience with automation and control management platforms (Ansible, Puppet)
• Experience with endpoint security products (ISE, Duo, Umbrella)
• Experience in networkprotocol analyzers/sniffers
• Strong planning and organizational skills in network deployment, planning, and execution
• Flexible and adaptable when priorities shift due to changing situations
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and techniques as needed by
• Cisco IOS and ASA experience with IPsec

Required Education:

• Bachelor's in computer science or related field (6 years' experience in lieu of degree)
• 4+ years of relevant work experience in Information Technology or Information Security

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in a complex network environment/s
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with complex IP routed networks, L2/L3 switching and routing, firewalls, LAN/WAN networking hardware and protocols
• Strong Linux/Mac and Windows support skills
• Certifications Preferred (CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP, Network+, Security+)
