  • Work on Ford's Global Main Reference DataBase (GMRDB) for diagnostics
  • Perform independent diagnostic test validation
  • Support NetCom Application engineers, DR Engineers, and suppliers regarding Ford diagnostic requirements, tools, and processes for vehicle program diagnostic issue resolution
  • Collaborate with other Core Diagnostic team members to identify gaps and future enhancements
  • Collaborate to support, maintain, and improve existing Ford diagnostic tools such as DET, Diagnostic Script Player, Diagnostic Script Setup Tool, MDX tools, VBF tools, etc
  • Collaborate to support, maintain, and improve existing Ford diagnostic specs such as GGDS, SWDL, ECU Configuration, etc.
  • Collaborate to support, maintain, and improve existing Ford diagnostic processes such as GMRDB, diagnostic development with CANdela, etc
  • Work with VO, FCSD, and commodity teams in defining new DIDs, DTCs, and routines
  • Support upcoming FNV4 diagnostic changes
  • Diagnostic over IP at OBD2 connector
  • Diagnostics over Automotive Ethernet within the vehicle
  • Diagnostic development process updates related to Ethernet
  • Work with Tier 2 suppliers (e.g., Vector) to implement updated diagnostic requirements within Autosar environment
  • Approve diagnostic tool licenses and security related requests

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field of study
  • 5+ years of experience with Automotive in-vehicle communication and diagnostics.

Our preferred requirements:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field of study
  • Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Computer programming, GitHub, and Jira skills
  • Knowledge and experience with Ford diagnostic requirements
  • Knowledge and experience with Ford diagnostic development process
  • Knowledge and experience with Ford Part 2 diagnostic specifications
  • Knowledge of industry standard networking and diagnostic protocol solutions
  • Knowledge of automotive security aspects and standard cryptography methods.
  • Industry experience in requirements test methods
  • Knowledge and experience with developing software and interfacing with vehicle networks
  • Experience with troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving diagnostic and vehicle network issues (e.g., review of related network traffic)
  • Knowledge of Ford connected vehicle processes and systems
  • Demonstrated team leadership and motivational skills
  • Demonstrated planning, presentation, and written skill
