Position Overview: The M&S Integration Engineer will support the mission of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Office (DES) to test the Missile Defense System (MDS) in a distributed Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environment, including MDS Ground Test (GT) events and MDS Flight Test support (pre-mission risk reduction, mission execution team training, and post-flight reconstruction). This position involves hands-on support for MDA's distributed software threat simulation used in the testing of and training on MDA's tactical systems. Candidate will operate primarily out of a government facility supporting the Missile Defense Agency's Engineering Simulation program in Huntsville, AL. Responsibilities and areas of support include but are not limited to the following:

  • Tasks include installation and configuration of the simulation software, troubleshooting and root cause analysis of anomalies and defects, and the providing of technical support during various MDA activities. These tasks will primarily be performed in the locally but may also require support in various other CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • The candidate is expected to adhere to current processes and procedures, participate in document reviews, attend limited meetings, provide status as requested, and collaborate with team members in person and electronically.
  • The candidate is expected to be self-sufficient in the execution of integration responsibilities within six months.



Job Requirements

Experience Requirements:

  • General
    • The successful candidate will enjoy working in a technically challenging environment with simulation framework developers; test event integration personnel; data analysts; and event planners, testers, and other stakeholders.
    • Candidate must be a self-starter capable of working with minimal direction, and experienced in staff coordination.
    • Must have strong interpersonal and analytical skills to work as a team player.
    • Working knowledge of the Linux operating system (or other Unix variants)
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance
    • 2 or more years related experience.
  • Preferred
    • Experience with hardware/software/network integration
    • Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software defects
    • Experience with Ballistic Missile Defense programs
    • Security+ and Linux+ certified
    • Active Secret clearance



Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM, a related field or equivalent experience.
