Position Summary

The Model-Based Digital Thread Process and Capability Center (MBDT PCC) is a specialized, corporate-level organization that works with engineering groups from across of our business units to accelerate the development and adoption of digital engineering methods and tools. We work with teams that design jet engines, radars, missiles, and more from the diverse portfolio of Raytheon Technologies programs as the company transforms its engineering culture and approach.

The MBDT PCC's Toolchain and Data Integration team is responsible for understanding, integrating, and applying model-based engineering tools and platforms to selected digital thread use cases from across Raytheon Technologies. In support of these use cases, we survey the commercial and open-source technology landscape, support pilot studies, specify integrations and customizations, and either build integrations and customizations ourselves or work with vendors to have them built. Our team is the bridge between the needs of the engineers in our businesses and the useful and usable technology that will help them achieve a digital-thread-enabled engineering process.

As a Model-Based Technology Engineer on this team, you will be responsible for using your understanding of the MBDT's use cases to support our pilot studies and integration work from the technology perspective. As a member of this team, you will be involved with tool customization and integration, software development, commercial tool evaluation and pilot studies, collaboration with our information technology (IT) specialists, and communication and documentation of our solutions and results.

You will learn the details of the design processes of our engineers, as well as the tools they use, and work with them to specify and build upgraded toolchains that provide better traceability and automation. As part of successful transition of our solutions, you will also be involved in working with the engineers in our business units to help them understand the new technology and methods that they will be using.
