The Trading & Investments team (T&I) is developing industry leading online brokerage products, tools, and content/insights for investors. The platforms we build are flexible and resilient, they are used by millions of clients through web and mobile channels. These technology solutions enable our clients to trade, monitor and discover new investments to help them make the most of their money, build their wealth and reach their life goals.
We are seeking a highly effective and innovative Executive Director to lead multiple Mobile Development Teams. We look first and foremost for people who are passionate about solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. You'll be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders daily to stay focused on common goals. Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for managing agile software delivery teams focus on IOS and Android apps and partnering with the Product owners.
  • Deliver solutions leveraging modern technologies including mobile app and mobile framework development utilizing modern design patterns.
  • Responsible for all aspects of mobile technology delivery.
  • Strong risk management mindset relative to managing risk and delivering technical tasks related to the solution e.g. breaks, defects, patches & upgrades
  • Strong talent assessment and talent management background
  • Mentor team members to progress their technical and professional skills
  • Build and maintain relationships with business and technology team members.
  • Triage technical issues and lead teams toward solving problems.
  • Plan team capacity to accommodate demands.
  • Build a diverse and inclusive team and culture within the organization.
  • Drive down legacy technology platform footprint.
  • Background in legacy technologies such as SOA and Mainframe a plus but not required.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (ideally, a Bachelor of Science) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field of study
  • 8+ years of experience on technical Delivery teams and enterprise products.
  • 4+ years of managing mobile technical Delivery teams and enterprise products.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Mobile Software Developer, as an IT Consultant, or in a related occupation
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture, design and business processes with proficiency in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Swift/Kotlin or Java as well as experience in developing custom UI components
  • Understanding of modern design patterns used in Swift/Kotlin and Java
  • Knowledge and experience using popular build tools, like MAVEN, NPM and Gradle as well as Development Tools (XCode, Android Studio)
  • Knowledge and experience in TDD and modern testing frameworks that support it, like
  • Understanding of source control and experience working with modern tools that support it, such as Git
  • Expertise in mobile framework and application design and architecture disciplines
  • An extensive working experience and advanced knowledge in server-side web and mocking technologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Desired:

  • Understanding and experience using CI/CD tools Jenkins
  • Possess a functional orientation, understanding how development work translates to the business end-user.
  • Micro-services architecture and cloud computing knowledge.
  • Advanced hands-on knowledge of mobile security domain and solutions
  • Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
