As a Machine Learning Engineer (Entry Level) , and member of our PPG Digital Organization, you'll contributing to specific business projects applying machine learning, DevOps, code optimization, and data visualization methods to drive deployment of AI products. You will make recommendations on the machine learning pipelines architecture (build pipelines, training pipelines, inferencing pipelines, release pipelines), as well as infrastructure and performance recommendation for resource creating and successful operationalization of such AI products. Your focus is on existing products or processes but may be involved new initiatives and new technologies.

The ML Engineer is responsible for establishing and integrating ML Operations (MLOps) into everyday work practice for AI teams using industry best practices and patterns. She/he is responsible for creation or tools and routines that will become the foundation for our MLOps practice in the process for deploying and managing AI models. Promotes MLOps management with broader teams to raise awareness of technology, techniques, possibilities, and capabilities.

The ML Engineer is the specialist in developing code that will move PPG into the world of responsible and dependable MLOps, and he/she will liaise with the Data Scientist and Data Engineer to ensure governance and best practices are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Devising and applying advanced AI/ML models and algorithms to mine the stores of data.
• Evaluate AI/ML readiness and provide data acquisition recommendations to bridge gaps
• Visualize data to discover and communicate solutions and opportunities.
• Application of advanced statistics on scientific problems.
• Employ Machine learning sub fields such as:
  • Text mining / natural language processing
  • Multivariate data analysis and clustering based models
  • Use of Neural Networks in scientific fields including deep learning techniques
  • Image processing & analysis
  • Multi-objective optimization
• Stay ahead of trends in applied machine-learning, computer vision and statistics.
• Collaborate with external partners to bring groundbreaking results to PPG operations.
• Work with global-team to translate innovative ideas into deployable digital products and services with quantifiable business impact.

Qualifications:

• BS in chemistry, physics, computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
• Demonstratable proficiency in machine learning, with experience in deployments and architecture design.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL
• Experience using Microsoft DevOps

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS in Data Science, Predictive Analytics, Machine Learning or applicable technical field of study.
• Experience with Matlab, R and/or other statistical programming languages applying the appropriate statistical procedures to problems.
• Experience with pioneering deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras or comparable technologies
• Six Sigma / sigma logic methodologies expertise (Yellow belt and above)
• Experience working with both structured and distributed data technologies ranging from SQL to Hadoop, Hive and Spark.
• Experience with agile development methodology.
