Department OverviewThe Motorola Solutions Radio Engineering team, located in Plantation, FL., specializes in the design and development of world class Mission Critical Communications equipment. This team develops state of the art mixed signal modules and integrated circuits for use in our radio products. We need innovative and motivated mixed signal system-on-a-chip designers to apply their talents to take our radio product solutions to the next level. As a member of our team you will have opportunities to work on a variety of circuits and system designs.
Job Description
The Mixed signal ASIC SoC Lead Engineer will work with CMOS technologies to develop mixed signal ICs to be utilized in hi-reliability public safety communications systems. This position will be a team technical leader that will provide oversight and technical leadership to ensure robust design methodology for SoC system integration for a worldwide group of junior and senior RF and digital CMOS circuit design engineers. The IC product is intended for internal consumption, production ready ICs for Motorola Solutions radio products.
Prior experience in several of the following areas is needed:
Hands-on work in mixed signal ASIC specification, architecture, design, verification, physical implementation, silicon bring-up and debug.
Creation and innovation of circuit designs for RF, analog, digital, power circuits, interface logic, sensors, and other peripherals in deep submicron IC nodes. Familiar with various building blocks of RF transceivers and Phase Locked Loop (PLL) subsystems.
Solid experience in analog/mixed-signal circuit block modeling (Electrical and Real Number Modeling/RNM), design and verification using mathematical and CAD tools.
3rd party IP integration.
Experience with Verilog-A/Verilog-AMS/SystemVerilog/Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) for digital and analog/mixed signal (AMS) designs. Familiar with shell and scripting languages (SKILL, Perl, Python, TCL, make, csh, bash).
Silicon validation in the lab, experience in Labview or similar will be an asset
Additional Qualified Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to own and drive design assignments to completion
- Knowledge of the full analog & digital IC design flows
Basic Requirements
MSEE or BSEE with 10+ years of mixed signal SoC IC design experience
