What you will be doing
The IT Architect will work in/with an Agile Development Team to deliver quality products to the customer, with a focus on technical application solutions using best-practices, patterns, frameworks and standards.
Essential Responsibilities

  • Guides application development team through development process.
  • Ensures development is done right the first time and has an understanding of how products relate with other products and ensures interdependencies are in focus.
  • Makes design decisions and technology recommendations to satisfy business requirements based on product roadmap/vision.
  • Establishes a coherent architecture vision of how FIS enterprise software and infrastructure technology will be applied to best address current and expected future application needs.
  • Continuously communicates vision in an audience-appropriate manner, both internally and externally, from developers and designers to business owners and customers.
  • Makes recommendations based on vision and associated analysis to satisfy tactical, operational and strategic needs
  • Successful design and implementation of applications in a shared service bureau environment
  • Proficiency in creating and documenting high level and low-level technical designs.
  • Ability to do POC on multiple technology options and come up with suggestions documenting pros and cons of each option and the suggested option.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving and time management skills
  • Proficient in performance and memory profiling on the browser for JavaScript based web applications.
  • Adhere to tight and stringent deadlines in delivering design/code/debug tasks as required
  • Fluency in developing and understanding sequence diagrams, class diagrams, etc.
  • Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take
  • Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed
  • Ability to analyze already existing logic in the code and also modify logic in the existing applications.


What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Post-graduate education desired.
  • 6+ years of hands-on-experience using JAVA, J2EE, REST as a technical Architect and overall experience of 10+ Years in Java/ Angular
    • Rich Internet/Platform, or Web Applications in N-Tier applications or services in JAVA, J2EE, REST, spring, Spring boot, Swagger, Jackson, SOAP, maven, Oracle/postgresql, AJAX, JSON, REST, Node, NPM, Yarn, Observables(RxJS), GIT, required.
    • Good Knowledge of Angular 2 and 4, Augury, SCSS/CSS, TS, JavaScript, Lint, HTML5, Material Design, Flexbox, AJAX, JSON, REST, Node, NPM, Yarn, Observables(RxJS), GIT, required.
    • Infrastructure portfolio in Maven, Jenkins, continuous integration and delivery setup, dockers, OpenShift, ansible, spring boot, GIT, Unix, bitbucket, micro service architecture required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization. Should possess good interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Experience in Agile development


Added bonus if you have:

  • Experience with prototyping code and/or tools
  • Experience with responsive web design and development
  • Knowledge of financial services industry
