Our Endava team is growing! Our engineering capability is looking for a mid-senior level Java Kotlin Developer to join our group. As an engineer at Endava you must be flexible and willing to work with exciting, sophisticated problems to generate strong solutions. Excellent communication is key and being able to ask penetrating questions to uncover the root causes of challenges being presented. Our engineers are highly motivated and feel empowered to independently make decisions that are aligned with the goals and objectives of the project. Our engineering consultants must value collaboration and working cross-functionally to make the greatest impact on our clients and fellow team members. 

In this role, you will work alongside our internal team to develop applications/systems for one of our banking and payment clients. You will utilize your backend programming experience in Java and/or Kotlin to develop services within an agile project framework and will work as a direct contributor within regular Scrum ceremonies. You will be expected to be heavily involved in regular code reviews, testing, and other important functions within the CI/CD pipeline. As a mid-senior level developer, your problem-solving abilities along with an analytic approach to delivery will be crucial to success in this role.

Within three months, you will be ingrained with your project and its goals, while developing positive relationships within and outside of your team. As a seasoned engineer at Endava, you will provide development insights to members of a cross-functional agile team to engage internally. Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience using Java/Java EE
• 5+ years of experience with key Java frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Apache, etc.) 
• Experience and/or familiarity with functional programming
• Strong knowledge of API Design and building RESTful web services 
• Experience with CI/CD strategies and tools 
• Strong understanding of SQL and experience with relational or non-relational database platforms 
• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/OOD)
• Experience with Java unit testing frameworks and libraries such as JUnit and AssertJ 
• Experience building applications in a microservice arc

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with containerization (i.e., Docker and Kubernetes) 
• Ability to generate time estimates for technical tasks 
• Knowledge of banking systems and payment networks
