Mgr, Network Engineering
JOB SCOPE
Responsible for providing support and direction in planning and implementation of network related change. Responsible for the hiring, training, development, and performance management of staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Competent knowledge (helpful, not a must) of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies.
- Demonstrated knowledge in network design, network architecture, and protocols.
- Experience in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations, and basic network devices and basic network appliances.
- Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace team environment and ability to learn new technology quickly.
- Develops a disciplined, detailed and structured team to drive a high performance culture and environment.
- Provides engineering support and direction for new or existing technologies and current operational initiatives.
- Work with staff to ensure that individual team metrics and goals are being met.
- Ensures required reports are timely, accurate and complete.
- Provides technical guidance and assistance as required for problem resolution.
- Oversees the daily activities of Network Services and performs direct supervision of team members, including performance reviews, career development, and staffing.
- Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
- Knows, understands and follows company policy.
- Establishes positive employee relations through effective communication and ongoing support.
- Performs other duties as requested by manager.
BASIC/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field, and / or equivalent work experience
- Minimum four (4) years of Network Engineering experience with TCP/IP Networking
- Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Juniper routers
- Minimum three (3) years of data network experience
ADDITIONAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Analyze and interpret data and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel both orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
- Manage multiple projects at one time (i.e. prioritize and organize effectively)
- Supervise and motivate others and work independently and demonstrates leadership qualities
- Ability to use personal computer, software applications and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN design and operations
- Ability to work with others to resolve problems, handle requests or situations
- Knowledge and experience with Network and Element Management tools
- Knowledge of cable, voice and data communications networks, and associated elements
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, SNMP and HFC networks
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.) preferred.
- Knowledge of company products and services.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
- Thorough and complete understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 subnetting.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Office environment.
- Be available to assist team in a 24 x 7 Network Operations environment.
- Travel as required.

The pay for this position has a minimum of $96,100.00. The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
