About the team:

The Market Operations team at Robinhood is responsible for traditional middle office brokerage operations. Our mission is to deliver an excellent end-customer experience and mitigate firm risk while supporting cutting-edge brokerage and financial products. We’re looking for a motivated self-starter with an ownership mentality to join our team. As a Market Operations Specialist (Market Data), you’ll be responsible for managing market data feeds from exchanges and vendors, ensuring we’re in compliance with data governance policies, data usage, and reporting standards, troubleshooting market data issues, and creating processes to proactively identify those issues. You’ll work with our product, compliance, and engineering teams to prioritize enhancements, support strategic initiatives, and perform business analysis. This role will be critical to identifying, consulting, and building the infrastructure to gather and display quality market data on Robinhood.

What you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Project manage any effort to source new products and providers as needed by cross-functional teams
  • Act as point of escalation when issues arise
  • Manage the program to identify professional and non-professional traders
  • Own responsibility for oversight of quote counting and reporting
  • Drive down cost where applicable in partnership with the Growth Partnership / Procurement Teams
  • Ensure any customer facing terms & conditions related to data vendor are kept up-to-date
  • Monitor of data provider for activity and updates and assess impact on RH/ any actions to take, engaging x-functional teams and legal where appropriate
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures and/or Written Supervisory Procedures are up to date and followed
  • Oversee and analyze vendor feed changes or system changes
  • Research and resolve market data issues arising in various operating environments
  • Carry out regular testing for quote counting and display
  • Engage 3rd parties as required to improve our data quality and data cost strategy
  • Analyze market data processes and work with engineering teams on process improvements
  • Partner with CX on building out internal education around market data, effective client responses, and efficient issue resolution procedures
  • Create processes to proactively identify market data issues and resolve them before clients notice

About you:

  • Passion for Robinhood’s products and our mission to democratize finance for all
  • Ability to fluidly navigate from strategic to tactical assignments, highly developed multi-tasking skills, ability to produce high quality results while meeting tight deadlines with limited supervision
  • Strategic mindset to help drive product management decisions, governance, and long term vision
  • Knowledge of major exchanges and market data providers
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Long-term thinking; ability to identify and mitigate risks proactively
  • Bias to action and ability to thrive in ambiguity
  • Strong communication skills; bias for collaboration
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Engineering, Math, Business, Finance or similar field
  • 2 years of qualifying experience in a market data-centric role
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, and Looker (or other data analytics tools)

  • Strong Robinhood product knowledge
  • Experience in retail brokerage operations
  • Series 7, Series 57, Series 24

Colorado Residents Only: In accordance with Colorado state law, Robinhood provides an estimate of the pay range associated with this role. In Colorado, the target salary for this position is $74,000 to $87,000. Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to education, work experience and certifications. Successful candidates for this role are eligible to participate in Robinhood’s equity plan. Please note that this information is only provided publicly for candidates in Colorado, but the role is open to candidates outside of Colorado as well.
