Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Manufacturing Software Engineer is to develop and maintain software, which is used throughout the manufacturing process. This includes ERP/MES interfaces, shopfloor applications, analytics, automation, etc. This will be a key role in driving greater efficiencies and optimization on the path to the factory of the future initiative.
Reporting to the Director, Manufacturing Engineering for the Video business, the Manufacturing Software Engineer collaborates with multiple cross functional teams throughout the organization on a variety of projects, all geared towards driving greater efficiencies in our factories.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Software Engineer is responsible for the successful development and implementation of a wide variety of manufacturing software focused projects.
Key responsibilities include:
Develops and maintains software related to NPI and manufacturing of video products.
Supports implementation of factory MES and further optimizations
Interface manufacturing software with MES and ERP systems
Develop and maintain database, used for test and manufacturing analytics
Support development of factory dashboards
Partner with Lean/CI team to develop new manufacturing software that improves throughput and and product quality
Work with operations team to develop, or customize software used for managing manufacturing
Work with automation vendors on the integration of hardware into the factory and existing software systems
Support standardization of test and manufacturing systems across multiple factories through common platforms and databases
Consistent focus on optimization and standardization throughout the manufacturing process
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
Experience interfacing with ERP systems such as SAP S4
Proficient with a variety of SW languages, such as C , C#, Java, .NET and Python.
Experience with SQL architecture, maintenance and reporting
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Written and verbal communication skills with ability to present technical information to peers, and senior leaders
Eagerness to operate in a dynamic, fast paced environment with an ability to drive change
Knowledge of cloud architectures and tools, such as AWS, or Azure preferred
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or Computer Science
3 or more years’ experience.
