Manufacturing Engineer - Program Systems Engineer (PSE) - Battery and Fuel Cells
Description
The primary responsibility within the Product Interface team is to 'get the product right' and deliver product designs that enable a flawless launch and can be manufactured at the lowest total enterprise cost. The Program Systems Engineer (PSE) will collaborate with Product Engineering (PE) during development and design phases, while supporting the simultaneous manufacturing process development and optimization.

- Proactively collaborate cross-functionally from GM R&D through production site team members to deliver enterprise-best solutions for battery and/or fuel cell design and manufacturing
- Be the "Voice of Manufacturing Engineering (ME)" in up-level technical and program forums
- Collaborate on technology roadmaps
- Complete assessments for product design and change impacts
- Collaborate with GPS ME process engineer team members to jointly develop the design concurrent with the manufacturing process design
- Engage in Joint Development Agreement (JDA) and Joint Venture (JV) activities within the technology sector
- Complete Appropriations Request (AR)-level Manufacturing Planning Studies and complementing AR and AR approval
- Lead scheduling and execution of the pre-production slow builds and support throughout all builds, on-site
- Some travel required to various locations - primarily US based with some international travel possible but not common
Additional Description
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with major in engineering or equivalent experience
- Manufacturing Engineering, Plant, or Product Engineering experience of 5 years or more
- Demonstrated ability in manufacturing process, and equipment design
- Demonstrated ability in product development process
Preferred Qualifications:
- Joint Venture and/or Joint Development Agreement (JDA) experience
- Battery cell, module, and pack experience (design and/or manufacturing)
- Fuel cell, stack, module, and test experience (design and/or manufacturing)
