Who you are:

As the Manager of Web Engineering, you will lead a team of developers to architect, develop and test complex web-based applications using modern web technologies. You will explore related technologies like Progressive Web Applications, server-side rendering, GraphOI, and other JavaScript-based technologies like Amazon Echo, Google Home, and React Native.

What you will do:

  • Ensure team's adherence to proper design principles to projects and frameworks
  • Provide accurate estimates of projects and features
  • Work directly with individual contributors to mentor them in advancing their role-specific skills and careers
  • Optimize overall team performance, by coaching individual team members
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members and teams
  • Present risks, and business impact to management promptly with proposed mitigation
  • Seek and remove impediments to team success regardless of where they originate
  • Establish new and improve existing design principles, coding style guidelines, web discipline standards and process improvements

What you bring to the position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in the software industry
  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing a team of technical resources including recruiting, administrative tasks, performance management, and resource planning
  • Experience managing teams delivering web, mobile, and/or cloud-based solutions
  • Experience leading web development teams with modern frameworks (Angular, React, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with Agile software development methodologies

Bonus Points:

  • Experience leading teams in building and maintaining large commercial websites
  • Experience managing distributed teams with engineers in multiple locations (on-site and remote)
  • Experience managing vendors and managed services providers
  • Knowledge of voice technologies (Echo, Google Home) and API.ai
  • Knowledge with Chromecast and/or TVML
  • Knowledge of cross-platform mobile development tools (React Native, NativeScript, etc.)
  • Experience using Atlassian suite of tools - Confluence, JIRA, Stash
