Meeting your future team

  • You will be joining a team whose purpose is to implement automated Lineage scanners for BI/ETL tools and present the result via interactive Lineage diagrams. 
  • Your role will be two fold: as a manager you will lead the team and as a software engineer you will contribute by coding to the overall output of the team.
  • Your work will have a positive impact on companies and developers maintaining a legacy codebase or 3rd party solutions as we replace manual Lineage by an automated reverse engineering process.
  • Motto of the Lineage team is “We need 10 minutes to document 10 years of your development”.

Engineering Manager (Python) at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Leading an engineering team by example while actively working on the codebase
  • Helping the team to set the right expectations with product managers, cross engineering teams, UX, and other stakeholders
  • Understanding the current and future architecture of our lineage scanner stack
  • Following agile process (Scrum) to make sure your deliverables are visible for the entire team and company stakeholders

You Have:

  • Experience managing a team of software engineers
  • Solid production experience in Python and great motivation to have it as your primary programming language
  • 6+ years of experience in building scalable software applications using some of the following technologies and processes: Python, Docker, Jenkins, Git, CI/CD
  • Practical experience with functional languages is nice to have
  • Good communication skills in English (written and verbal) and experience working with distributed and diverse teams

  • Experienced with cloud-native technologies and designing systems for security, performance, resilience and scalability requirements
  • Able to partner with architects and product managers to define technology and architecture evolution

Measuring Success:

  • Within your first month, meet and start leading the team, get on-boarded with Collibra products and practice areas and deploy your first simplified lineage scanner to the dev environment.
  • Within your third month, you will be leading your team’s Agile practices, you will have a good understanding of the team, their challenges and priorities and you will have a solid understanding of Collibra Data Lineage architecture.
  • Within your sixth month, you will be able to fully define, prioritize and lead the steps towards the strategic vision and be fully independent in your role.
