About the job

Twilio Segment is looking for a product-focused engineering leader passionate about creating high-quality user experiences for our customers. The Segment Self-Service CX team leads growth projects and in-app functionality to help customers sign up, activate, and upsell throughout their Segment journey. 

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and growing a team of talented fullstack and frontend engineers to deliver on the Self-Service CX vision and roadmap. You will also be responsible for mentoring, sharing knowledge, and guiding the team's technical decisions to set us up for long-term success, both as a product and as a team. If you get excited by building products with high customer impact and working closely with design, product, and strong product-minded engineers, this is the perfect role for you. 

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Love working on high-impact features that will delight our customers. 
  • Teach others to be proud of the code they write and preach pragmatism. You're empathetic, patient and a team player.
  • Lead or assist in all aspects of the software development life cycle, ensuring the successful delivery and execution of our product vision.
  • Approach all engineering work with a security, reliability, privacy, and compliance lens.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Has 5+ years experience writing production-grade full-stack code in JavaScript / TypeScript
  • Has 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, Team Lead, or similar role.
  • You know how to source, recruit, hire and retain talented engineers.
  • You have a proven track record of strong partnerships with Product and Design, and care deeply about the success of customers in everything you build.
  • You have been a developer yourself with hands-on experience developing customer-facing full-stack web applications using a modern frontend development toolchain (React, Typescript, Node)
  • Experience managing software engineers in a technical and complex operations environment are highly desired.
  • You provide a deep understanding of the complexities involved in writing large single-page applications.

Desired:

  • Have been on a growth product team, or have seen the value of bottoms-up product thinking. 

Location 

This role will be remote, and based in the USA

  • The estimated pay range for this role, based in Colorado, is $127,960 - $201,080
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state. This role is also eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
