Manager - Software Engineering (Customer Finance)

The Opportunity
As part of Customer Finance Team, you will have the opportunity to lead Private Label Credit Card initiatives for QVC and HSN to help grow the program.
Your Impact
Responsibilities include strategic planning, product definition, Delivery management for software within the team, quality of the software development process, and recruiting. You will work closely with engineers, engineering leaders, product managers, vendor partners and executives to create and drive your product roadmap that includes transformational initiatives to increase Private Label Card penetration. You will engage and influence senior stakeholders across our organization to achieve your goals. You will drive engineering excellence by implementing best practices for agile development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
What You'll Do
- Will assist in defining and deciding on strategic direction related to the Customer Finance Team
- This individual actively works with the architecture teams for both near term & long-term technical direction
- He / She has a strong acumen in CI/CT/CD and will drive for effective development practices that results into efficient & faster delivery with highest level of quality
- Owns the software lifecycle management including retirement of older apps as well as well addressing technical debt.
- This individual will create and maintain relationship with key business stakeholders.
- Maintains and owns labor, hardware / software budgets for the responsible teams.
What you Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- Preferred experience leading teams supporting Retail Order or Payment systems
- 6+ years of experience as a software developer
- 2+ years of people management experience
- 1+ years working in Agile delivery methodologies (Kanban/Scrum).
- Experience managing remote software engineering teams
- Experience recruiting and developing top engineering talent.
- Passion for creating highly reliable systems though both design, infrastructure, and operational practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - can communicate clearly with engineers, business partners, and executives.
