We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join Snap Inc! As a member of the Engineering team, In this role, you will be tasked with solving interesting technical challenges and leading a team to help scale, design a slick and secure mobile client, and maintain software used by millions every day. This position will be working from our Seattle office. Some core features we build and maintain include Snapchat’s Camera, Messaging, Monetization and Advertising. We have one of the fastest growing digital ad platforms, and our Monetization teams drive measurable returns for advertisers through novel ad formats like Augmented Reality. As a Snap Engineering team member, you’ll help us build the future of communication.
What you’ll do:
Drive the technical and organizational roadmap for the team
Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams distributed across multiple locations
Build and grow a team of exceptional software engineers and technical leaders
Influence key decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions
Iterate quickly without compromising quality and raise the bar on operational excellence
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Manage and develop a team of diligent, responsive, creative, smart, and kind Engineers by providing feedback, coaching, and mentorship on a regular basis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence and convey messages to a wide range of stakeholders
Experience making critical decisions for complex technical issues in real-time, considering timelines and urgency
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience
5+ years of software engineering experience
3+ years of experience managing a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Someone who loves to learn, and is passionate about helping others
Experience with mobile apps and/or databases
MS degree in Computer Science or related field
Experience working with distributed systems
