Responsibilities
As an Information Security Manager at H-E-B, you must be able to think and act strategically and tactically to manage projects, technologies, staffing, and challenges and opportunities that arise for each, as well as supporting your team personally. You will provide support across H-E-B, including IT, HR, privacy, loss prevention, fraud, legal, and other departments. You will manage contract and service provider personnel.

ROLE

  • Managing H-E-B's Security Engineering team in providing cyber security capabilities to ensure that the company, our partners, and our customers are secure.
  • Coordinates hiring, training, and evaluation of security personnel and the development of education and training programs to ensure appropriate awareness of security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Manages and supports audit, disaster recovery, and technology sustainment activities.
  • Develops and manages the team budget and monthly security metrics reports.
  • Proactively adapts to meet new challenges and changes at H-E-B and global technical security directions; understands and relays H-E-B's business needs and challenges; recommends strategies
  • Assigns and assists team members in workload prioritization
  • Ensures collaboration and strategic alignment with external parties (e.g., vendors, third parties), and internal groups (e.g., business units, application teams, architectural teams)
  • Develops associate team members through mentoring and review of their various deliverables
  • Maintains relationships with other vendor regulatory bodies and local, state, and federal law enforcement and other related government agencies
  • Collaborates with IT personnel from other companies around the world to ensure consistency and share leading practices
  • Manages the development, implementation, and enforcement of H-E-B security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures to ensure ongoing maintenance of security
  • Assists in building strategic roadmaps to include 1, 3, & 5 year plans for work unit(s)
  • Defines, budgets, and coordinates implementation of the info security technical strategic, staffing, and training plan
  • Identifies goals, objectives, metrics consistent with H-E-B's strategic plan
  • Experience developing enterprise security metrics and reporting
  • Physical requirements include: function in a fast-paced retail office environment. Occasional travel by car or airplane with overnight stays. Sit for extended periods of time. Flexibility to work extended hours as needed.


REQUIRED

  • 5+ years in cyber security or systems engineering in a large-scale environment.
  • Enjoys of the process of helping others grow and develop so they can be at their best, including hiring, coaching, disciplining, counseling, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of information security best practices related to enterprise technologies
  • Excellent speaking, presentation, writing, listening, conflict resolution, and leadership skills that can be applied to a technical or non-technical audience


PREFERRED

  • 3+ years of experience leading technology professionals
  • A related degree or comparable formal training, certificate, or work experience
  • IT Security certification, such as CISSP or CISM
  • Knowledge of best practices regarding endpoint detection and response, email protection, web content filtering, and security information and event management.
  • Experience with, and application of, common info security management frameworks, such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001/2 and the ITIL, COBIT, and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) frameworks
  • Experience with security architecture, vulnerability management, application security, incident management, security incident, networking, and/or info technology operations
