Company Overview:

Relativity is the first and only company to automate aerospace manufacturing by integrating intelligent robotics, software, and proprietary metal 3D printing technology. Disrupting 60 years of aerospace, Relativity offers a radically simplified supply chain, building a rocket with 100x fewer parts in less than 60 days. Our long-term goal is to upgrade humanity’s industrial base on Earth and on Mars.

Team:

The Additive Development team is responsible for development and maturing the core additive manufacturing technology used to product Relativity’s orbital class launch vehicles. The NDE Engineering Team develops, refines, qualifies, and performs novel NDE methods specific to Relativity’s additive manufacturing methods.

What you’ll do:

As Manager of NDE Engineering, you will be responsible for the NDE strategy and technical roadmap for ensuring the structural integrity of Relativity’s Additive Manufacturing processes.

Working with members of our NDE team, you will be accountable for the qualification of Relativity’s inspection methods, traceability, the evaluation, development, and adaptation of novel and existing NDE technology through the whole workflow of our printed components.

You will collaborate with adjacent stakeholders including engineering design teams to develop and qualify acceptance criteria for specific components, processes, and continue to mature the NDE Program strategy for Relativity Space for development of Terran 1, and moving into development for our newest re-useable rocket, Terran R.

Additionally, you will represent the Additive Development and NDE teams in a quality assurance and fracture control capacity in forums with internal engineering groups, government agencies, and customer facing forums.

What you need to know:

  • BS or MS in an engineering related field
  • 5+ years of experience leading an NDE program and team
  • Technical expertise in at least 2 of the following NDE Methods: Digital RT, CR, EMAT, ECA, PAUT
  • NDE Operations experience
  • Deep knowledge of welding flaw acceptance criteria

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Experience performing statistical analyses including linear and multi-linear regression, Gaussian and Bayesian probabilities using R or Python
