Job Description
The B2C Mobile Engineering Manager is responsible for the product planning, execution, and delivery within the SportsEngine functional portfolio of SportsEngine's B2C Mobile Apps. This includes, but is not limited to: gathering product requirements, writing user stories based upon requirements, assisting in defining the portfolio vision and working collaboratively with engineering, sales and support to ensure that the portfolio meets the agreed upon goals and functionality. The Mobile Engineering Manager must also ensure that the portfolio is aligned with SportsEngine's overall B2C business strategy.
Job Duties:

  • Overall functional portfolio ownership
  • Define and execute on portfolio strategy and tactical roadmap, including the creation of user requirements/stories based on both internal and external feedback. Also includes overseeing prioritization of features and functionality, and ongoing grooming of product backlog
  • Develop core positioning and messaging regarding the portfolio, as well as defining success metrics and reporting structure
  • Work with assigned engineering resources to develop and implement the portfolio, and manage/own the lifecycle using collaborative tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Provide on-going status reports to senior management
  • Manage betas and proof-of-concept trials as required throughout the B2C mobile application lifecycle, utilizing face to face customer experiences as often as needed
  • Create and develop user documentation for new and existing features within the portfolio
  • Gain a deep understanding of the customer and user experience for features developed, identify, and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that improve customer experience and meet their current and future requirements.
  • Keep apprised of product, portfolio, and industry trends


Qualifications
All candidates meet the position requirements below:

  • At least 5 years of mobile engineering experience
  • Experience in managing multiple concurrent and complex projects, as well as a demonstrated ability to drive those projects to completion
  • Deep understanding of a product's life cycle, with a specific focus on the development and implementation phases
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts and ideas clearly and concisely
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make informed decisions upon analysis
  • Experience in reporting on project status to senior management
  • Solid background in creating/writing user stories/requirements
  • Strong presentation skills, both in person and virtually


Desired qualifications are as follows:

  • Experience with collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with Mobile UX and UI design and implementation
  • Experience with B2C Email Marketing
  • Ability to manage mobile product life cycles
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Results/action-orientation
  • Able to successfully navigate with varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Pragmatism and efficiency to find the best solution to delivering new products
  • Ability to find the right solution based on criticality, strategic need, and cost
