As a hands-on software engineering manager, you will be directly responsible for the quality of HeartFlow cloud services while serving as a coach, mentor, and leader in our cloud team. You will be directly managing a small group of software engineers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide technical and people leadership to drive our cloud services on AWS.
• Drive Agile based product development supporting organizational priorities and innovation.
• Hands-on development and mentoring as necessary for all members of the team to ensure team and project success.
• Drive products and team performance, collaborate with all to achieve results, and think strategically.
• Work closely with the development team, product owner and cross-functional team members to decompose stories, design features, and prioritize tasks.
• Manage team in execution of application support and automation for deployments.
• Work with product owners and key partners in Project Management, Business, Development, QA and Operations to ensure high quality delivery of software projects on time.
• Identify technology risks and dependencies early to establish mitigation plans.

Skills Needed:

• Experience in designing and building modern services on AWS.
• Deep knowledge and experience in modern cloud patterns and strategies; passionate about code quality.
• Delivery of production cloud services in a manager role.
• Proven leadership and management skills.
• Focus on team productivity and collective impact.
• Partner effectively across teams to manage scope, deliverables, and direct stakeholders.
• Set the cultural and ethical tone for your team.
• Experience managing team members with different skill sets and areas of focus.
• Effective at communicating context to the team and managing other internal stakeholders.

Educational Requirements & Work Experience:

• B.S., M.S. or Ph.D in Engineering or Computer Science
• 8+ years of related work experience
• 3+ years of management responsibility
• Healthcare industry experience is a plus
• Experience with SaaS product management is a plus
