Manager - Device Automation
JOB SCOPE
This detail-oriented leader is responsible for managing the Device Automation team and corresponding platforms architected, developed, built, and maintained by the team. This person will focus on building an environment of collaboration, team work, trust, and high-quality output while also building and maintaining key relationships with end users and delivery partners. The primary focus of the team is to build tools, self-serve and automated reporting, and data analytics on all aspects of the 50+ million customer premises equipment (CPE) devices across the Charter network.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership and direction to developers and engineers on technologies, best practices, and career development
- Oversee all technical operations to maintain the integrity and stability of CPE ecosystems
- Guide the ongoing development and implementation of operational analytics, monitoring, tools, and reporting of customer premise equipment platforms
- Partner with end users and delivery partners to deliver useful, high-quality, time and cost saving tools and platforms
- Provide 'on-call' leadership support and response to CPE platform issues after normal business hours
- Coordinate preparation of capital and operating budgets for the Device Automation team
- Identify and establish performance targets for the team
- Set clear expectations, prioritize activities, and follow through to completion
- Support the creation of technical roadmaps
- Partner with the leadership team in driving a high-performance culture
- Provide direction for development of new products, technologies, and initiatives
- Support team members to help them gain confidence and experience with communication, leadership and collaboration skills, and enable growth and advancement in their careers
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science or Engineering discipline, and/or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of people management experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of program, project, or release management experience
- Minimum of three (3) years in a DevOps environment

- Ability to provide effective, results-oriented direction and make sound decisions while under pressure
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and simultaneously manage several projects and initiatives effectively
- Skilled at providing coaching, guidance, mentoring, and motivation whenever necessary
- Working knowledge of software development languages (Python, Django, React, etc.)
- Fundamental understanding of carrier-grade systems architecture, design, and security
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Python, React, Django, etc.
- Experience with DOCSIS, CMTS, SNMP, TR-069, DHCP, TFTP, DNS, HTTP/S, MySQL, and Amazon Web Services (AWS)

The pay for this position has a minimum of $96,100.00. The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
