Manager, Automation and Engineering
Our Opportunity:
We are currently looking for a dedicated Automation and Engineering Program Manager for our fulfillment center operations network, responsible for equipment reliability and operational performance of equipment, specifically conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print, etc.
What you'll do:
- Working with site Facilities Managers to oversee reliable operation and technical support of control systems throughout the region.
- The Automation and Engineering PM manages and approves regional automation & controls change requests through the appropriate systems.
- Leads the effort in control systems assessment and upgrade path planning. Also works with Operations Engineering, FC Software and vendors to standardize new equipment commissioning process and resource needs.
- Partners with Sr. Director Facilities Management, Facilities Managers, and Operations Leaders on incident escalation path, on-call structure, severity, and remedy
- Works closely with network standardization, readiness inspection, and automation training program development.
- This position will possess strong leadership, project management and communication skills, and have the ability to drive deliverables in a dynamic work environment.
What you’ll need:
- A completed Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls/Mechatronics Engineering field from an accredited university or 3+ years relevant industry experience
- 5+ years of management experience in project management, controls design and schematic approval and vendor relationship.
- 8+ years cumulative working experience as an Automation Engineer specializing in PLC based control system design, development and support utilizing barcode and sensor technologies.
- Understanding of controls of equipment design principles, device layout and data communication methodology.
- Knowledge of WMS/WCS API design methodology, PLC network topology, and field device interface design (i.e. scanner, device network).
- Proficiency with MS Office suite, Power Point Presentation, and Visio.
- Position may require travel
Added Bonus:
- BS or MS degree in degree in Electrical/Controls/Mechatronics Engineering is a preferred.
- Thorough understanding of leading solution architecture for automation & controls
- Two years engineering experience in major industrial automation or material handling system company is preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal and customer service skills
- Experience with industrial robotics
- Experience with ASRS systems
