Who you are:

As the Manager, API Integration Engineering, you will build and manage a team of developers to design and implement the responsive and scalable API integrations that power our mobile applications. You will have the responsibility of working with customers, partners, and clients to prioritize integrations points, define requirements and find technical solutions while modeling and implementing efficient business systems.

What you will do:

  • Recruit, develop, and lead a team of Integration Engineers
  • Inspire, motivate, and enable individual development and promote career growth of team members
  • Develop, execute and manage both the long-term vision and strategy for the team and daily operations
  • Work directly with and mentor individual contributors in advancing role-specific skills and careers, optimizing overall team performance by targeted coaching of team members
  • Be a client-facing technical voice accountable for providing invaluable insight and guidance to our customers and engagement teams as they plan and buildout new digital products
  • Work directly with clients and collaborate with other teams to serve as a technical lead on digital transformation projects
  • Support the team as a servant leader by helping unblock and help solve issues that arise
  • Improve software development productivity, quality, predictability and team morale
  • Provide accurate estimates of projects or approve estimates given by others within your department
  • Perform Human Resources contributions associated with the team, including hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations and coaching
  • Manage overall staffing of the team, including assigning team members to projects and onboarding flexible staff when needed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and team members
  • Maintain confidentiality of client credentials, components of statistical work, client documents and interfacing of their systems
  • Work with potential clients to understand their business goals and help define project scope and timeline, bridging the gap between business goals, architectural limitations and technical delivery
  • Aid Business Development in sales pitches and technical assessments
  • Perform on-the-job training and research
  • Work on internal documentation, training and other special projects

What you bring to the position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 8 years' experience working as a developer writing code
  • Minimum 6 years' experience developing backend systems with JVM languages
  • Minimum 4 years' experiencein architecting and delivering microservices and RESTful designs
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a manager or team lead
  • Career progression through the ranks of a programmer who had built applications leveraging Java/J2EE, .NET or JavaScript
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise class scalable web and mobile applications leveraging modern loosely coupled architecture patterns
  • Experience with data integrations APIs and authentication mechanisms
  • Experience with and knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture and APIs (REST, SOAP, etc.) and other modern integration patterns
  • Experience working Agile methodologies and with Agile development tools such as Jira

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with medium to large middleware technology projects using industry leading middleware and API technologies such as MuleSoft, Apigee and Azure
  • Experience managing distributed teams with engineers in multiple locations and remotely
  • Experience using Atlassian suite of tools such as Confluence and Jira
  • Knowledge of various cloud hosting environments such as AWS, Azure and GCP
