Job Summary

Job Description

DUTIES: Manage a team responsible for identifying and deploying the Next Generation Access Network's (NGAN's) national virtual Cable Modem Termination System (vCMTS); perform network and system administration; develop, operate, and administer enterprise-scale vCMTS operations with the latest software builds to successfully transition Comcast customers to virtual CMTSs; assist with system automation and the redesign of legacy CMTS systems; perform new product integrations in Unix and Linux environments; develop automation scripts using Bash and Python; develop network software using Juniper OS, Arista OS, Kubernetes, Ansible, and GIT; perform network troubleshooting and configuration; contribute to the definition of operational and support requirements for new network-related technologies and products; identify service-impacting trends and work with the development teams to implement long term solutions; troubleshoot server hardware and software; utilize Kibana logs to analyze and debug systems issues; implement market-leading processes and operational strategies; and mentor, train, and guide junior-level engineers. In performing duties, directly supervise 12 employees (Operations Engineer 3s).

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and five (5) years of experience in network and system administration; of which three (3) years includes enterprise scale operations experience; performing new product integrations in Unix and Linux environments; developing automation scripts using Bash and Python; performing network troubleshooting and configuration; and troubleshooting server hardware and software. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, employer will accept an additional two (2) years of experience in network and system administration.
