As a Software Engineering Applications Developer you work with the business & Technology leadership to understand strategy and implications to mainframe application(s) under your responsibility. You will be accountable to Business & Technology Management for end to end application scoping, planning, development, implementation and post implementation maintenance and support. You will meet regularly with Business partners to prioritize work in queue and client requests.
You will work as part of an Agile team to prioritize and manage development, implementation of enhancements and work with the Product Owner and Development Manager to incorporate customized client components into the overall release schedule & delivery framework, you will also assume a shift of working the pipeline of client implementation requests.
As an Agile team member you will perform analysis like a BA, design and perform testing like QA analyst, design and build code as a developer, plus plan and handle tasks for implementation and post-implementation support.
As a team member you will work together to manage the team's workload to deliver agreed upon Project milestones; identify/mitigate risks to delivering solutions on time. You may partner with peer developers to develop skills, provide individuals within the team, constructive feedback, coaching and delivering on other job related responsibilities.
This role requires the demonstrated ability to manage multiple work tasks that include Business Analysis, Development, Production Support, Architecture etc.
This position supports mission critical applications contributing millions of dollars of revenue to the Firm. Candidates must be well versed in performance modeling and tuning to support our applications highly scalable architecture with extremely high transaction volume.
Qualifications
Required:

• Minimum 5+ years of mainframe experience
• Expert level Application Development / Programming experience with Mainframe, COBOL, DB2\\SQL, Stored Procedures, CICS, VSAM, Job Scheduling (ZEKE and CA7 Preferred), NDM, REXX, CLIST
• Expert level skills with mainframe tools & utilities CICS, JCL, SQL & VSAM, Changeman, FileAid, Job Scheduling (ZEKE Preferred), NDM, REXX, CLIST
• Previous experience in Financial Services technology areas is required
• Strong knowledge of Agile principles and methodology
• Strong analytical skills to include solid experience in writing technical specifications and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to develop strong relationships
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Self-Motivated
• Ability to multi-task effectively

Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
• Application Development / Programming experience with Distributed Technologies. SQL, Stored Procedures, JAVA, HTML, Intellij, Unix\\Linux skills, Single Sign-on, GIT
• Prior experience in Financial Industry
