We need someone who can:
As a Mainframe Developer you will be providing technical problem solving and deep solution expertise to the customer and development teams. You will also be providing technical leadership, guidance, and help to drive and support the MMIS provider team maintenance and development. Also leveraging hands-on customer experience and proof-points to educate and engage the broader community of prospects, customers, partners and coworkers.
Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
- Minimum of 5 years of management in a Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) environment
- Minimum of 10 years in the software development lifecycle planning, developing, testing, and implementing of software applications
Job Functions:
- Designs systems and programs to meet complex business needs. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs are developed and coded. Ensures programs meet standards and technical specifications; performs technical analysis and component delivery.
- Codes, tests, debug, implements, and documents moderately to complex programs. Creates appropriate documentation in work assignments such as program code, and technical documentation.
- Gathers information from existing systems, analyzes program and time requirements. Assists project manager in preparing time estimates and justification for assigned tasks.
- Assists, support and/or project personnel in resolving moderately complex program problems. Works with client and management to resolve issues and validate programming requirements within their areas of responsibility. Provides technical advice on complex programming.
- Develops test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs.
- Conducts quality assurance activities such as peer reviews.
- Provide On-call production support
Preferred Qualifications for Consideration:
- Experience in Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS)
- Six or more years' experience in COBOL, DB2, CICS and JCL development
- Strong analytical and debugging skills
- A degree in Information Systems or Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- Knowledge in one of the following areas: Claims, Financial, Member, Managed Care or Provider sub systems.
- Good personal computer and business solutions software skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Interpersonal skills to interact with team members
- Communication skills to work effectively with team members, support personnel, clients and interfacing agencies.
- Knowledge in new technologies is a plus.
