The Global Payments and Liquidity function within TST enables the clearing and settlement of payments across the globe, electronic and paper-based payables/receivables solutions and deposit account servicing and management of client's cash.

The Bank of New York Mellon is seeking an experienced mainframe COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM Specialist / Developer. The candidate is expected to be a significant contributor to a globally diverse technology team and will be challenged to identify and execute on solutions for our internal business groups and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs solutions, carries out development tasks, and L3 production support.
  • Works with the application software development services for small to very large complex projects.
  • Responsible for all facets of the BNYM development life cycle from Planning through Implementation.
  • Coordinates testing efforts to ensure a high-quality product for implementation.
  • Collaborates with team members to perform all change management practices and policies related to coding, testing and implementation activities.
  • Contributes to estimates and project plans.
  • Awareness and compliance of all risk and compliance controls.
  • Conducts reviews of the test Plans and test Data.
  • May allocate/ coordinate work within a team/project.
  • Ensures application performance standards are appropriately defined and achieved.
  • Collaborates with the business partners to identify and implement appropriate solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
  • 5-7 years of experience in software development required.
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
  • Job holder must have understanding interdependencies and business impact of future IT plans. Candidate must have prior lead experience selecting and implementing vendor-specific methodologies and prior consulting experience with structured methodologies.
  • Extensive experience with developing and supporting mainframe applications required. Job holder must have broad experience with multi-platform development tools and toolkits
