YOUR IMPACT
The qualified candidate will provide unified production management support for the Unix/Linux infrastructure of the firm, using cutting-edge systems and processes that form the core of our key business. You will have the opportunity to work at the forefront of technology innovation alongside industry leaders and make significant contributions to the field. You will also adopt various tools developed by Engineering team to automate failures using machine learning techniques, notify discrepancies in the health of production environment and help in the automation of health-restoration, with a continuous focus on risk and cost.
Responsibilities:
In your role as a Linux Administrator you will be Tier 1 / Tier 2 support of the Business systems in a 24x7 follow the sun model. This will entail alert management, OS troubleshooting and working to restore service in a robust Enterprise Environment.
- Monitoring of Linux/Unix systems
- Troubleshooting of systems
- Alert management
- Incident Management
- Working with clients across our Business Units to maintain and restore service
- Automation of activities through scripting and configuration management
- Working with Hardware teams to maintain the physical server estate
- Documentation of processes and procedures for the team
Basic Qualifications:
- 3-6 years of Unix/Linux systems administration experience
- Strong core OS troubleshooting experience
- Bachelor's Degree (U.S. or equivalent) in a Science or Engineering program or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Red Hat Linux Administration
- Scripting experience in Shell, Bash, Perl and/or Python
- Virtualization experience in VMware
- Networking knowledge/skills
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise-grade server hardware such as HP and Dell rackmount servers
- Experience using remote management interfaces like Dell iDRAC, HP iLO, VMware vCenter/vSphere
- An automation-first mindset
- Incident management experience
- Prior experience in the Financial Service Industry is a plus
- Prior Enterprise experience is a plus
- Relevant certifications are a strong plus
