The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As an Lean Value Stream Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Initiating and leading projects to improve process safety, quality, service, cost, capacity, and productivity using your knowledge of engineering and Lean Six Sigma methods.
  • Troubleshooting defects and reducing variation, performing root cause analysis, and applying problem-solving skills to develop robust solutions.
  • Supporting resolution of customer complaints; including timely response and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Creating and maintaining product/process documentation, including drawings, specifications, standard work, and test methods.



Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or Science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • One (1) year experience in a manufacturing environment



Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from Electrical engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) years of experience in manufacturing engineering within an industrial setting with demonstrated strength in engineering/technical skills.
  • Experience in electronics design, assembly, and manufacturing
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 workmanship quality standard
  • Training and experience in Lean manufacturing methods, statistics, SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma



Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
