Job Description

This requisition is for the Lead Systems Engineer role on a multi-year nationwide modernization program in support of the U.S. Secret Service. The Total Contract Value of this nationwide Enterprise opportunity is anticipated to be in excess of $200M, with an approximately 6-year implementation and multiple Maintenance contract years. In this position, the Lead SE will be responsible for the ownership of the total technical solution of this multi-zone conventional Astro P25 encrypted voice and data network including WAVE dispatch, OTAP/OTAR, Radio Management, and other subsystems.

This is a growth-oriented position for the right individual, includes flexible work location(s) (customer location, PMO, home office), and comes with the opportunity to work in a great team environment with a group of talented, dedicated individuals.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • The Lead Systems Engineer role reports to the Program Office SI/M&S Manager
  • At any given time throughout the lifecycle of this Program there will be concurrent design and deployment contracts in various stages of execution – each with a staff of PM’s, engineers, and ST’s as appropriate to execute contract scope. The Lead SE will be responsible for ensuring coordination between the various efforts in order to enable compliance to overall Program goals, technical (system) cohesiveness, and schedule.
  • Responsible for the performance to requirements, goals, and objectives associated with the technical solution
  • Ownership of the design process, likely spanning multiple design awards for various regions across the United States, in compliance with program-level design process
  • Ownership of the implementations (i.e., order/stage/ship/install/test/etc.) likely crossing multiple contracts, awards, and modifications
  • Support for the successful planning and execution of all contract and modification awards
  • Is a key contributor to customer relationship management and alignment to corporate business plans, ensuring tight alignment with Sales goals and strategic direction
  • Is a key member of the core Program Office staff with a close working relationship to the SI/M&S Manager, the Lead Program Manager, the Technical Service Manager, the CSM, and the Lead Sales Manager
  • Supports the evaluate of corporate portfolios in support of Sales and customer strategic direction and requirements

Additional Requirements:

Preferred 10 years total experience within IT or Telecom sectors with Federal, State, and Local Government markets within engineering or service provider roles with a minimum of 5 years direct experience as System Engineer on large system design/deployment contracts within Federal, State, and Local Government markets. 

  • Proven track record of leading complex technical system deployments and technical teams
  • Demonstrated mastery of SE processes
  • Sr.-level Systems Engineering experience, process development, and management preferred
  • Understanding of Key Performance Parameter development and management (e.g., financial metrics, contract metrics, customer relationship, etc.) preferred
  • Previous experience directly managing multiple technical teams in support of multiple and/or larger contracts strongly preferred
  • Self motivated, excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills

Basic Requirements

  • Master’s (MS) Degree (Preferred) in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contracts
