Job Description As a Software Engineer Lead/Manager of our Software Engineering Group, we look first and foremost for people who are passionate around solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. You'll be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals. This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Managing resources across with several scrum teams accountable for supporting feature delivery for the Capture Domain and cross functional teams across all Document Management.
  • As a people manager, provide mentoring and leadership to the organization including year-end appraisals, client & stakeholder management, and develop members of the organization, as well as serving as a role model for the enterprise
  • Managing the recruiting, hiring and training process
  • Independently owning all facets of the performance management process and compensation recommendations to ensure all firm requirements are completed thoroughly and timely
  • Provide engineering leadership to teams
  • Drive agile maturity across the organization
  • Drive cultural change to bring a product/engineering mindset into the organization


The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5+ years of functional management experience, preferably in a large financial services organization.
  • A strong track record in successful people, business and project leadership at both a local and regional level.
  • HR background and experience preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills- confident, organized and clear. Can effectively interact with all organizational levels.
  • Strong presentations skills and fluency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional judgment
  • Partnership mentality- collaborative with strong presentation and influence skills.
  • Professional leadership- excels at motivating both individual and team performance. Fosters collaboration and recognizes accomplishments
  • Control orientation- Enforces a dynamic control/ compliance environment and continually mitigate risk in business processes. Works with an appropriate level of independence to solve issues and escalates timely to the appropriate internal constituents
  • Drive for Excellence- Consistently seeks to exceed expectations and demonstrates continuous improvement in service levels and general performance/process productivity
  • Demonstrated thought leadership
  • Highly effective problem solving skills
  • Independence, organizational ability and consistently meets deadlines
  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
  • Management including managing IT Demand & IT Capacity
  • Good understanding of financial control and budget management
  • Working knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
  • Experience with Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development and other software engineering practices that drive support/agility in software delivery
  • Experience working in a large scale Agile environment preferable using a formal scaled Agile framework
