Group/Division
With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. Central Engineering is KLA's largest engineering organization comprised of 9 Centers-of-Excellence (CoE) in various disciplines applied across all product groups in the company. These CoE include Handling & Automation, Precision Motion Control, Sensors & Image Acquisition, Platform Design, and Packaging Engineering, among others. Talent includes over 500 engineers across global centers in Israel, China, India, and the US. Each CoE contributes not just talent and deliverables per discipline toward product programs, but also subject matter expertise, best practices, roadmaps, specialized facilities, apparatus, models, and analytics. These differentiate KLA not only in WHAT we do, but also in HOW we do it.

In this role, you will be responsible for requirement analysis, design, implementation, and testing system software solutions, closely working with the hardware and systems engineering team and tackling some of the most sophisticated technical challenges facing the semiconductor industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and develop real-time software applications that integrate hardware for robotic Reticle handling and instrument control system
  • Develop Java, C# or C/C++ code integrating robotics, motion control and data acquisition
  • Work closely with the software development team, mechatronics engineers and system engineers
  • Work with both internal and external customers to define requirements for these software solutions
  • Collaborate with Applications and Algorithms teams to define the software architecture from the UI to the backend
  • Hands-on SW installations on demo tool, support customer live demos & working in a cleanroom environment
  • Drive Agile SW development



Qualifications:

  • Experience with Object-Oriented Software Analysis and Design using UML modeling, Java programming
  • Strong software development skills in one or more programming language (Java, C#, C++, Python)
  • Requires knowledge of multi-threaded/parallel processing applications and embedded software development
  • Experience developing software processing algorithms.
  • Good problem-solving skills are required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships
  • Good verbal presentation, group dynamic, and facilitation skills
  • Proactive approach in resolving problems and issues
  • Must be able to travel for training and support of customers worldwide



Good to have skills:

  • Semiconductor equipment industry experience and/or Image/data processing experience a plus
  • Knowledge of large scale storage technologies, Machine learn



Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate (Academic) with 5 years of work experience
  • Master's Level Degree with 7-8 years of work experience
  • Bachelor's Level Degree with 9-10 years of work experience
