We are looking for a passionate Lead software engineer, to be a part of Nike's new Marketing Technology organization. You will play a critical role, in developing Nike's Customer Data platform, which supports and promotes our products and provides a unique user experience to all of our customers in 166 countries globally. This role will play a critical part in our one billion dollars marketing plan which supports our direct-to-consumer initiative. This position requires technical curiosity and intuition for business along with strong software engineering skills. We are looking for someone to drive, own, and ship all aspects of large, multi-functional efforts and feature areas. You will partner with engineering teams throughout feature development from architecture, design, implementation, and validation

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Lead the Design, and Build large datasets, and data pipelines to support building out our new Customer Data Platform (CDP) which will enable advanced segmentation in Customer data platform, that creates unique customer experience targeting, automation, and analytics.
  • Gather and understand data requirements, build complex data pipelines for real time data, Click stream analysis and work to achieve high-quality data ingestion goals.
  • The technology stack that you will be working on: Python, AirFlow, AWS, EMR, Databricks.
  • Innovating, architecting, designing, and implementing highly available, scalable systems, focusing on highly visible marketing initiatives
  • Contributing ideas for new features and identifying technical areas for improvement proactively
  • Collaborating with product team members at Nike to design, develop, and deploy a highly scalable digital system and services.
  • Collaborate with upstream and downstream technical teams to develop integrations to provide a seamless flow of our marketing assets from planning to delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership and best engineering practices to continuously deliver working software by mentoring other developers
  • As the Lead Engineer you will use your in-depth experience in software development to writing clean, tested, and well-documented code, as well as lead the peer code review process and mentor other engineers on the team.

    WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH
    This role is part of the Nike's Customer Data Platform within Marketing Technology.

    WHAT YOU BRING
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 10 plus years of technology related experience required
    • 6+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering developing full stack software solutions.
    • The experience we are looking for: Python or Java, Sql, Data Engineering, experience with the following tools or similar: Airflow, EMR, Hive, Spark, or similar.
    • Marketing technology experience is a plus.
    • Experience integrating with various Adobe toolset in the marketing space- in particular Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Journey Orchestration (JO), Customer Journey Analytics(CJA).
    • Experience in customizing product solutions.
    • Demonstrated strength in data modeling, ETL development, and data streaming.
    • Knowledge of data management fundamentals and data storage principles
    • Experience in microservices architecture, domain driven design, and RESTful API's
    • Hands-on experience working in a distributed/cloud-based environment with high transaction volumes
    • Experience using cloud services to build an integrated application in production (AWS - EC2, ECS, API gateway, Lambda).
    • Experience with implementing CI/CD and leading teams with DevOps responsibilities of deploying and supporting the software in production
