THE TEAM

We're building a new team that will work on some of the coolest software in the industry - the systems that price betting markets for the major US sports. We’ll work with teams in Australia and Ireland who currently build these systems for the entire Flutter Group. Now, as the US betting market expands, we want to bring this knowledge and expertise into the US. The work we do will be used by all Flutter Group brands worldwide. Our stakeholders are the people who establish the odds and prices for the #1 sportsbook in America!

THE POSITION

Our roster has an opening with your name on it

As a Lead Software Engineer within FanDuel's Trading Solutions team, you will be a leader of a cross functional scrum team that directly impacts our business. Working in two-week sprints, you will work collaboratively with a team to actively and creatively design solutions, scope effort and timelines, and balance priorities of our stakeholders and engineering needs. This team will work closely to deliver exceptionally high-quality software, while taking pride and ownership in testing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining that software. Our engineers own every part of the software delivery lifecycle.

THE SKILLS

What we’re looking for in our next teammate

As a lead engineer, you have an immense depth of technical expertise and experience, whether that is on the back-end, front-end, or both. We are looking for a lead engineer to guide technical discussions, design and implement solutions, mentor our more junior engineers, and make sure that our systems are being built the right way. We want you to be excited about constantly learning and driving not only your own professional development, but also those of the more junior engineers you will help lead. You should have most, or all, of the following skills:

  • Creative problem-solving ability
  • Extensive experience writing web-based software, either on the backend with object-oriented languages like C#, Java, Python, Ruby, NodeJS, etc., or on the frontend with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks like React, Angular, Vue. Or even better – you do FE and BE!
  • Deep expertise with cloud-based software engineering tools like AWS/Azure, GitHub Actions/Jenkins; caching tools like Redis/Memcached; message queue tools like Kafka/RabbitMQ; APM, logging, and alerting tools like Datadog/Sentry; unit testing and mocking tools like NUnit/moq
  • Thorough knowledge and ownership of the entire SDLC
  • Extensive experience preventing, triaging, and resolving production issues and outages
  • A knack for breaking down large, complex problems into deliverable stories and technical requirements for junior developers to implement
  • A passion for learning and always getting better, while making those around you better, too

THE CONTRACT

We treat our team right

Competitive compensation is just the beginning. As part of our team, you can expect:

  • An exciting and fun environment committed to driving real growth
  • Opportunities to build really cool products that fans love
  • Mentorship and professional development resources to help you refine your game
  • Flexible vacation allowance to let you refuel
  • Hall of Fame benefit programs and platforms
