Software engineering is the application of engineering to the design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of software in a systematic method. The roles in this function will cover all primary development activity across all technology functions that ensure we deliver code with high quality for our applications, products and services and to understand customer needs and to develop product roadmaps.
These roles include, but are not limited to analysis, design, coding, engineering, testing, debugging, standards, methods, tools analysis, documentation, research and development, maintenance, new development, operations, and delivery. Primary Responsibilities:

• Work with the engineering teams to help solve business problem
• Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security
• Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all the team's deliverables
• Write high quality distributed system software
• Assist with recruiting and hiring
• Decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions
• Perform code reviews and mentor junior engineers
• Influence the technical direction for the team
• Build the team into an engineering center of excellence
• Review the work of others
• Develop innovative approaches
• Serve as a leader/mentor

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer or a Software Developer
• 6+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java or Python
• 6+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Solid computer science and development fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis
• Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build process, testing, and operations
• Experience building large-scale software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
• Hands-on experience in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end software systems and all points in between
• Experience working on products based on graph-based technologies, big data, machine learning, computer vision, or natural language processing
