WB Games Boston is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join the team! In this position, you will have both a direct and indirect role in developing key game systems and features for an unannounced upcoming title.

Based on the award-winning HBO series, Game of Thrones: Conquest™ is a free-to-play strategy game that puts players at the head of their own powerful House, with the ultimate goal of claiming the Iron Throne. Build your great house, raise your army, conquer iconic Seats of Power, and rule the Seven Kingdoms.
What Part You'll Play
* Build upon a culture of inclusivity and growth through coaching, career management, and mentorship
* Drive the efficient delivery of game features directly and through your reports
* Collaborate with feature owners, engineers, and people across many disciplines to determine the requirements for new game systems and establish an architecture that will support many years of live operation
* Work with the production team to establish estimates and schedules
* Translate the high-level goals of the business into direction and actionable tasks for your reports
* Help identify and articulate technical challenges and risks along with proposed solutions
* Willingness to help innovate and iterate on processes, systems, standards, game designs, and technology
* Participate in code reviews and ensure the technical designs of systems meet team standards
What You Bring
* 7+ years of software development experience in Golang or another object-oriented language
* Experience with distributed and cloud based architectures - preferably AWS
* Strong knowledge of common data structures and software design practices
* Clear, concise, and transparent communication skills - both written and verbal
* The ability to lead, encourage, understand, and support others
* A growth mindset, an attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and take feedback
* A passion for the gaming landscape, understanding what contributes to a game's success or failure, and what makes it fun
* Previous experience managing and/or mentoring engineers
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Bonuses
* Experience building asynchronous or synchronous multiplayer games
* Experience with Golang, AWS, or other server technologies
* Experience implementing gRPC and RESTful services
* Experience working with microservices
* Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
* Experience with Unity engine
* Experience developing for iOS and/or Android
* Experience playing 4X strategy mobile games
* Familiarity with the Game of Thrones television series and/or series of books
