Job Summary
As a Lead Software Engineer- Full Stack Java in the the Payment Testing Technology team you will serve the Commercial clients of JPMorgan. You will be part of the team facilitating internal and client testing efforts to validate new payment product flows and updates to existing payment products in a production parallel environment. On a daily basis, our clients move trillions of dollars through Payments systems in production. Thus testing of payment flows is critical in ensuring seamless payments transactions for the clients. You will be part of the team that is responsible for test environment management and automation solutions for 60+ applications in the payments flow.
We currently serve 30,000 clients, some of which are the largest companies in the world. We provide an end to end payment testing experience for all payment products. We provide services to clients in all regions globally - Asia Pacific, Europe and Middle East, North America and Latin America.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Individual contributor with a strong technical mind.
  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience in software architectures including traditional three-tier and container-based microservices.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in Java programming language.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., web application, cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Practical cloud native experience
