Disney Streaming's Big Data Platform team is seeking a Lead Software Engineer who will be an outstanding addition to our growing team. As a Lead Software Engineer at Disney Streaming, you will build our next-generation data analytics platform utilizing most advanced big data technologies. Responsibilities :

• Design, architect, develop, scale, and improve the service and tools in our unrivaled big data platform for the entirety of Disney Streaming by using both of Cloud and on-premises environments
• Implement solutions using groundbreaking technologies like rewriting and improving the Kafka, Airflow and help to give back to the open-source community
• Invent novel and scalable solutions to meaningful big data/ML/AI technical problems, introduce new technologies
• Diagnose and debug issues in production environments
• Collaborate with architects, researchers, program managers, and product managers in an open, creative environment

Basic Qualifications :

• Demonstrated programming (Scala/Java) and shell scripting skills
• Experience with real-time processing infrastructure like Kafka and orchestration platform like Airflow
• 7+ years of relevant industry experience in high traffic and scalable distributing computing production systems
• Strong cloud infrastructure knowledge in one of AWS/Google cloud

Preferred Qualifications:

• Independent, ambitious, highly technical, and capable of working towards results under pressure and ambiguity
• Open-source contributor/committee in one of big data/ML/AI project
• Familiar with source code in Kafka and Airflow
• Web UI design/development with React

Required Education :

• Bachelors in Computer Science or related field
