Job Description Job Description:
As a Data DevOps / ETL / Release Engineering Team Lead, the candidate will lead a high-performing diverse team and will prioritize and manage the implementation of application enhancements/changes; Oversee installations and release management including the verification region and final production acceptance review and signoff; Manage the issue resolution process for any application problems; Oversee operations monitoring and capacity management for Verification Delivery Environment (VDE).
The candidate will drive an overall vision Data DevOps VDE as well as develop a strategy and guidelines to work toward that vision within the committed workload and timeframes. Help manage the relationship with internal (Platform & Infrastructure Teams) and external services vendors (MSA Teams) to ensure superior service delivery for all application enhancements/changes.
Helps build a meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions to operations problems. Much of our support and software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, and reducing work through automation.
Manage individual workload and work of the team, identify/mitigate risks to delivering solution on time; Define entry criteria for Data DevOps VDE environment and may be responsible for one or more teams and will oversee activities of junior Release Engineering team members as applicable and provide individuals with constructive feedback as it pertains to team performance; Coach staff in technical matters and delivering on other job-related responsibilities.
Responsibilities:

  • Provide thought leadership and advisory for building VDE scalable infrastructure.
  • Manage and prioritize the Verification Testing requirements & Testing cycles/schedule of DD Application Development teams.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in troubleshooting priority incidents, and facilitate blameless post-mortems.
  • Work with Data Delivery Leadership throughout the software life cycle ensuring sustainable software releases.
  • Responsible for the security, availability, performance, change/ incident management, telemetry, and capacity management of the Data DevOps VDE.
  • Facilitate application modernization through DevOps and CI/CD toolchain adoption and implementation.
  • Defining the VDE entry criteria and working with development teams and ensure entry criteria are met before deploying the changes to VDE environment.
  • Work with Information Managers and enforce governance in VDE environment such as controls, user access, etc.
  • Lead performance testing process; identify bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization, and capacity demand


Qualifications :

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical field of study/equivalent experience. Graduate-level engineering degree preferred.
  • Proven experience leading agile delivery teams, team building, team management, and providing leadership and guiding team to meet the expectations.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in software development, and test automation in the data engineering/analytics space.
  • Experience with cloud-based applications, technologies, tools, deployment, monitoring, and operations.
  • Systematic, fact-based decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate relationships with all internal/external stakeholders, promoting diversity of perspectives, ideas, and cultures.
  • Ability to articulate ideas, and problem/solution/business value descriptions that can be understood by a broad audience in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Experience with issue resolution processes for application production problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage the implementation of enhancements/changes to multiple applications.
  • Proven ability to oversee installations and Release Management including the final production acceptance review and signoff.
  • Managing and/or influencing infrastructure services to ensure application service uptime and user experience.
  • Full life cycle experience within an Agile framework.
  • Mission-critical systems experience in a globally distributed framework.
  • Best practices in infrastructure and application logging, monitoring, intelligent alerting, test automation, and automated self-healing.
  • Experience with DevOps model and tools.
  • Experience with Site Reliability Engineering.
  • AWS Cloud certification and Snowflake experience a plus
  • ETL and Datawarehouse experience.


MINIMUM Education Requirement:
BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical field of study/equivalent experience.
Graduate-level engineering degree preferred
