We want to hire a Lead Platform Engineer to be part of a mission critical team - someone who is passionate about building a platform to ensure accurate and timely payments to Nike's worldwide network of factory and freight partners, indirect suppliers and wholesale customers!
Who you will work with
You will be part of the Leadership Team for the Procurement and Working Capital Management Platform Engineering team. In this capacity, you will work with the Engineering Directors, Managers and Principal Platform Engineers. This role also serves as a technical authority for the software engineering team. Your colleagues will sit in globally distributed teams across product, program, architecture, and engineering. You will help the squads collaborate with other squads to deliver end to end solutions. You will participate with multiple squads in an Agile / Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases every two weeks through Sprints. You will report into the Senior Director of Engineering for your capability area.
What you will work on
As a Lead Platform Engineer you will architect, develop, test and deploy solutions in Nike's Invoicing and Payments domain. You will provide leadership on how software solutions are built, tested, deployed and supported, including mentorship of software developers. You will conduct code reviews to ensure that all the work meets industry standards. We also expect you to be hands-on in the design and implementation of product features. You'll get to build continuous integration and production deployment frameworks. We will also rely on your expertise to address issues and perform root cause analysis to proactively resolve product and operational issues. You will promote the reduction in technical debt across our platforms, emphasize technical quality, showcase new technologies as well as facilitate experimentation and proof of concepts to demonstrate technical considerations.

WHAT YOU BRING
The ideal candidate will have functional knowledge and experience delivering solutions for Procurement, Accounts Payable, and/or Accounts Receivable. We also need you to have practical technical experience connecting SaaS applications into ERPs and on-premise systems. To ensure your success, you'll want to bring at least four years' experience with these skills on Day 1:

  • Proficiency with Agile methodology.

We are also interested in hiring someone with experience working across a large technology organization on multi-functional initiatives who:

  • Effectively translates business objectives and roadmaps into results.
  • Connects successfully with a variety of technical teammates and functional partners.
