Join MITRE's Mission Resilience and Crypto Department (N141). Our work program is central to the cyber resilience of DoD missions and integral to the activities of the other MITRE portfolios. In partnership, our goal is to ensure Cyberspace Superiority and ensure Joint Forces can achieve their missions in a contested cyberspace environment.

MITRE's Mission Resilience and Crypto Department seeks a passionate, talented engineer to enhance cyber resiliency in US Air Force (AF) systems. The successful candidate will support the implementation of cyber resilient capabilities with a focus on research, development, and engineering aimed at maximizing the trust and assurance of systems, software, and protocols. Job Responsibilities:

Collaborate with MITRE staff, project sponsors, and military personnel to develop and deliver practical solutions to existing and emerging cyber threats leveraging intelligence information, platform data, system models and analysis. The role requires a strong engineer/analysis who is able to consolidate information from various sources and assess mission impact of cyber threats. The candidate must be proactive, self-managed, and able to interface well with sponsor personneland technical partners (contractors, vendors, other FFRDC, etc.). Working as part of a high-performing team, the candidate will support rapid prototype development and solutions engineering, while balancing cost and schedule impact striving to reduce time-to-implementation of cyber solutions from years to months/weeks.

This analysist role will require regular contact with government leadership and engineers, and occasional travel. Work inside a classified area should be expected.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a m inimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.



Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the one of more the following: cyber analysis, mission analysis, platform integration, and test and evaluation.
  • A working knowledge of cyber security and supporting policies, and requirements.
  • Understanding of cyber-attack methods and threats.
  • Familiarity with DoD/AF weapon systems and/or platforms
  • Familiarity with embedded systems security and system cyber evaluation/test.
  • Understanding of DoD acquisition processes and test and evaluation processes.
  • Good organizational, writing, and briefing skills are critical.
  • Ability to work successfully in small teams of engineers and collaborate on engineering products, demonstrations, and presentations.
  • Possess an active SECRET clearance, with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.



PreferredQualifications:

  • Experience with one or more AF aircraft platforms (including C130, KC46, F35, F15, F16, etc.).
  • Strong understanding and experience with embedded serial protocols such I2C, SPI, UART, MIL-STD-1553, 1394b, ARINC-429, etc.
  • Understanding of AF missions and C2 capabilities.
  • Experience in applying MBSE and/or Digital Engineering constructs and tools platform systems/weapon systems.
  • Ability to write and present technical material in the form of proposals, white papers, technical reports, and presentations
  • Familiarity with platform cyber monitoring and situational awareness technologies.
  • Possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
