ClickUp is looking for passionate and dedicated engineers to help us scale and support our growing platform. You’ll be joining the team that creates Clickup Docs, the most heavily used feature on clickup.

The Docs team is responsible for all real-time collaborative text editing on the platform. Docs owns the frontend interface with a WYSIWYG editor and the backend to sync data between many collaborative editors at once. You'll have lots of opportunities to grow while managing performance and services at scale and working on new projects.

They are proficient in leading the architecture and implementation of high-scale, fault tolerant services that prioritize Consistency and Partition Tolerance over Availability. Role:
- Own the synchronization engine that powers all real-time collaboration at ClickUp
- Set the expectations and standards for technical excellence around coding practices, testing, release, deployment, and ownership.
- Bring new ideas to the team and roadmap for technologies to use, architectures to adopt, or technical debt to erase.
- Work with product managers, front-end engineers, and product designers to define the product requirements, scope, and business impact.
- Work with software architects and other teams, such as security or infrastructure, to craft technical architecture to enable the substantial scale of the platform.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent major.
- 8+ years of working experience developing and maintaining backend APIs and services in a production-level environment.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL).
- Experience with AWS or other major cloud services.
- Proficient with TypeScript or other popular programming languages.
- Strong teammate with excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building large-scale SaaS platforms supporting millions of users.
- Experience building modern development patterns for platforms, such as micro-services or event-driven architecture.
- Expertise with technologies such as CRDTs or Operational Transform engines
- Experience leading or managing engineering projects.
