This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Architect for our Washington, DC office. The following location will also be considered: Pittsburgh, PA. Be involved in projects with our Federal Programs Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
- Perform a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard architectural techniques for small projects to large projects.
- Exercise independent judgement in some areas evaluating, selecting and applying standard architectural design techniques, procedures and criteria to make design adaptations and modifications.
- Interact with current clients and assist in pursuing new work by leveraging existing relationships in the market
- Lead Design Team members in the preparation of design documents, reports and related project documents using REVIT and other applicable software
- Must demonstrate ability to perform thorough technical reviews in support of the office's Quality Control program
- Completes designs for applicable project, prepares architectural working drawings and related project documents
- Prepares project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data
- Conducts site and construction inspections gathering information, compiling reports for management
- Assist in development of proposals
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and oversee the work of lower-level architects
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, or closely related discipline.
- 10 years of relevant post education experience in the learned discipline, including project management of DoD facilities related work
- Architectural license
- Successful experience managing architectural projects
- Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) standards required
- Ability to obtain a US security clearance
- The ability to travel, some internationally, to project or client sites as needed
- Proficiency with CADD and REVIT platforms and their capabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- NCARB Certification
- Experience with NAVISWORKS
