WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
As the Launch Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will ensure the success of day-to-day launches. The Launch SRE supports the highest heat moments and drives prioritization of problems impacting launch experiences through problem management and bug scrubs. This requires multi-functional partnership across the Nike launch ecosystem, including other engineering teams, technical product owners, operations center partners, key business partners, and more.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the technical side of the product launch activities for the APLA Region on all platforms (iOS, Android, and Web)

- Ensure the scalability of backend AWS services

- Apply strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touchpoints

- Supervise the application usage for bots traffic and ensure fairness to consumer

- Real-time incident analysis, propose workaround and resolution for seamless consumer experience

- Identify trends and insights, optimize performance based on the insights and brainstorm new and creative strategies for future launches

- Propose technical improvements where applicable: e.g., caching, session time, cookie/device token validations, app design improvements, etc.

- Identify duplication and automate menial tasks for the launch business team

- Developing and driving real-time monitoring solutions that provide transparency into site health and key performance indicators

- Work with various technical/software engineering teams through day-to-day operations and critical incidents/problem management processes to restore service, handle root cause analysis, and recommend solutions for long term fix

- Act as the domain expert for consumer-facing (e-commerce) software applications

- Participate in planning and execution of digital marketing/launch campaign meetings to set expectations on application feasibility and requirement hardening

- Communicate project/launch status in weekly meetings and reports and provide input to the leadership team

- Evaluate new trends & emerging technologies/tools and Provide suggestions for adoption where appropriate

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

You will build automation with an operational attitude and utilize your technical skills to provide deep problem analysis, detect system faults or code defects, define, report, and build observability processes for Key Performance Indicators (critical metrics). Work with product delivery teams to provide long-term scalable solutions to Launch issues.

WHOM WILL YOU WORK WITH?

You will partner with peers and management-level internal partners to cultivate collaboration, alignment, and integrated planning and execution across all functions. You will have a close partnership with the Portfolio, Product, Engineering, and Technology Operations functions of APLA Global Technology. You will work closely to coordinate with other Technology and APLA business teams on dependencies across the portfolio.

This position will collaborate with the Manager of APLA Launch Support and work with multiple teams across geographies, including our IT outsourced vendors.

WHAT YOU BRING:
- Bachelor's degree in IT related field; or any combination of equivalent experience, education and training.

- 2-4 years of professional experience in software development, testing, and DevOps engineering preferred

- Experience with Web and mobile applications support is a must

- Experience with Splunk is a must

- Experience with at least one database layer such as SQL, DynamoDB, Cassandra, etc.

- Understanding of basic network and infrastructure concepts such as DNS, Virtualization, and Linux

- Development experience with microservice-based architecture in Java, Node.js, or similar language preferred

- Development experience with front-end UI languages such as JavaScript, React, Swift, or similar preferred

- Experience building, deploying, and supporting cloud-based systems in AWS preferred

- Experience with Docker and Serverless patterns a plus

- Experience with observability monitoring tools such as SignalFx, New Relic, or Catchpoint is a plus

- Good communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to articulate issues and their impact(s), write concise runbooks, and Process documents

- Working understanding of IT service management (Incident, Problem, Change, and Knowledge management)
