Corteva Agriscience, has an exciting and challenging opportunity in the Predictive Safety Center (PSC) within Regulatory Sciences for a Lab Automation Lead. The Lab Automation Lead will partner with PSC discipline leaders to ensure the proper infrastructure and technology is in place and readily available to the PSC scientists and technicians to allow for the timely delivery of high quality data. This role is responsible for overseeing the integration of fit-for-purpose automation, efficient laboratory workflows, and laboratory capabilities necessary to support both the current and future high throughput (HTP) testing needs. This position is located in Indianapolis, IN.
Responsibilities:

• Partner with PSC discipline leaders, project leaders, and scientists to outline laboratory automation capabilities needed in the short, medium, and long term (start with the end in mind);
• Partner with various R&D sub-functions such as FS&D Automation Team, Discovery Operation, RS Teams, or others to develop and onboard the necessary capabilities;
• Partner with external technology providers to integrate fit-for-purpose solutions into the PSC workflow;
• Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement in order to maximize laboratory productivity and data quality
• Perform troubleshooting by collaborating with lab scientists and Farming Solution & Digital (FS&D) Automation Team to solve problems.
• Lead the PSC automation cross-discipline network to ensure laboratory platform is generating high quality and robust data;
• Contribute to PSC data generation teams for the timely delivery of high quality data through assay development, validation and implementation;
• Interface with PSC scientists, Regulatory Science Team Leader (RSTL), PSC leadership team, and laboratory technicians to ensure all capabilities meet the necessary quality and safety standards.

Qualifications
Requirements:

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
• Experience in laboratory automation/robotics programming, integration, and optimization.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree discipline in Chemistry, Biology or a related science is preferred;
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience which should include laboratory automation/robotics programming, integration, and optimization. Relevant experience may also include Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) development and implementation, Quality Management System (QMS) development and implementation;
• Strong Project Management;
• Strong technical knowledge and HTP testing experience in biological/chemistry science;
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, and customer focused environment. Demonstrates flexibility to accommodate urgent projects;
• Strong oral and written communication skills;
• Ability to effectively work in a team atmosphere;
• Ability to understand and communicate complex issues to other team members;
• Strong scientific background in order to effective onboard and validate assays across various disciplines;
• Ability to anticipate developments and issues within assigned technical area.
