About the Team
The Fleet Engineering team is a foundation stone of the Qualtrics engineering organization. Our mission is to build and operate the infrastructure used to power the XM platform. We build automation and workflows for host and cloud infrastructure provisioning, and provide managed container orchestration services to enable our engineers to ship and scale faster. We relentlessly automate people out of the software delivery process so they can focus on innovation and delighting our customers.

Primary Responsibilities
As an engineer working in Fleet Engineering you will be part of a team that is responsible for the research, development and operation of our compute, orchestration and infrastructure services. This includes:
- Facilitating the effective use of cloud infrastructure
- Evangelize best practices for container orchestration
- Enforce policies to secure workloads in multi-tenant clusters
- Empower teams to self-manage their onboarding to Kubernetes
- Evaluate new technologies and platforms within the cloud-native space
Moreover you will be joining at a time of rapid growth and investment in our technology stack. This is a systems development role. You will deliver next generation technology frameworks that empower a continued move to a microservices architecture.

- Ensure our platform exceeds goals for availability, capacity, efficiency, scalability, security and performance.
- Actively monitor end-to-end system performance to identify bottlenecks, potential failures and deliver service capacity planning and demand forecasting.
- Communicate effectively with engineers & stakeholders. Describe problems succinctly to enable issue management.
- Perform periodic on-call duty as part of a global team.
Preferred Requirements
- BA/BS degree in computer science or related field
- 6+ years software or infrastructure engineering experience
- 3+ years of experience building on Kubernetes (prefer EKS)
- Experience with an Automation or Scripting language.
- Worked with or implemented configuration management using tools like Terraform, Puppet, Chef
- A mentality of 'Automate everything!'
- A great teammate, fast learner, with a focus on getting stuff done
